Champ lighters, from pocket size to table model
Champ is our brand for the middle segment: metal bodies, adjustable flames and models you refill instead of throwing away.
What characterises the range is its spread. There is a compact pocket lighter in it, a burner that stays standing on the worktop, and everything in between. So this one brand covers nearly every occasion that we split out across the other pages.
Which Champ suits your use?
Most Champ models we carry have one jet flame. That is the economical choice and enough for a candle, a cigar or a fuse. Alongside them are two heavier models with two and four flames, meant for work where you need a wider and hotter area.
Pocket size or table model
The Saber models are made to take along and lie flat in a pocket. The Quattro and the Tatin have a base and stay upright, which works better if you put it down in between.
One flame or more
Five of the seven models have one flame. The Extreme has two and the High Quattro four. More flames means working faster on coals or kindling, and more gas used per second.
Lock or child safety
On the High Quattro you fix the flame so you do not have to hold the button down. The Tatin has a child safety instead, which is better if it lies in a kitchen drawer.
Refill with butane gas at 45 PSI and wait a minute after filling. At lower pressure or with less pure gas the flame starts to sputter and the valve clogs up.

Yes, all Champ models in this category are refilled with butane gas through the valve at the bottom. That is also why they are built more solidly than a disposable lighter.
What is the difference between Champ and Champ High?
Champ High is a model name within the brand, not a different brand. With us the High Quattro and the High Metal carry that name. What sets them apart is stated in the information per product.
Which Champ is suitable for crème brûlée?
The models with an adjustable flame and a stable base work best there, because you can take the heat back and put the burner down in between. They are together under crème brûlée torches.
Which gas goes into a Champ lighter?
Butane gas at 45 PSI. Hold the lighter upside down, fill calmly until gas escapes and wait a minute before you light it, otherwise there is still air in the tank.
Do Champ lighters have a windproof flame?
